Welcome to the City of Ute! We are located in the west central part of Iowa in Monona County along the Soldier River. We are located 55 miles South of Sioux City 70 miles North of Omaha, NE. With the highways 183 and 141 meeting in Ute, it’s easy to reach the bigger cities, while still enjoying all that small-town life has to offer. We have a population of 374 (2010 census).

The Ute Fire Department is having their annual Men's Night on Friday, December 5, 2025 starting at 6pm at the Ute Town and Country. Tickets are $60 each. Contact a Fireman for tickets or tickets can be purchased at the door.

City Hall recently switched accounting systems. Due to the change, your utility bill template is changing. Please be aware that the other side of the utility bill postcard is blank. This choice was made to save our utility customers from additional costs.
