As mowing season is now underway, please help keep our streets, streams, and storm drains clean! It is important to keep leaves and clippings out of the street to ensure they don’t:
- Clog storm drains, or
- Enter our waterways where they contribute to water pollution, or
- Create a dangerous situation for motorcycles and bicycles
There are multiple ways to ensure your clippings do no harm:
- Considering using a mulching mower to keep clippings (and valuable nutrients) on your lawn and in your soils, or
- Bag, or
- Position the mower to blow clippings onto your property, or
- Sweep/blow grass clippings that make it to the street back onto your property, or
- Pick up and properly dispose.
